Default Opening driver side door doesn't turn on dome lights

So my driver side door when opening, doesn't turn on the dome lights and I can't figure out why.
The passenger works fine and everything works like intended.
I've checked the forums and tried testing the door jamb switch and it seems to be working.
(Tested by switching door jamb switches from passenger to driver side, and the driver side one worked on the passenger side)

The dome lights work and I've checked the contacts and they still look good.

There is constant power going to the passenger side door jamb wire, however there is no power going to the driver side door jamb wire.
Could it be a faulty wire or pinout?

You should be getting voltage to the door switches. Engine on or off. Have a DVM?

Engine off with battery connected and yes I have a DVM.

There weird thing is, the driver side is showing 12.38v and the passenger side is 12.12v.
BUT, when using a test light, only the passenger side lights up while the driver side doesn't.

Continuity from switch to light is bad. Check voltage at lights, switch on-&-off. Both driver's and passenger's side.

Did you have any bodywork done, recently? Any chance of pinched wires or forgotten re-connections?

Good luck!

Driver Side - Switch off 12.07v
Switch on 12.09v

Passenger Side - Switch off 11.27v
Switch on 11.83v

Haven't done any bodywork, but I am redoing the window seal for the soft top.

See you say you checked the contacts but did you actually clean them?

Also, it could be the door jamb - http://s2000.club/OM/DIY%20How%20to%...n%20switch.pdf

I had both problems until doing these quick fixes.

Yeah, I've cleaned both door jamb contacts and the contacts on the dome lights.

I've also noticed that unlocking the car from the fob doesn't turn on the dome lights, which I'm guessing it's suppose to?
I also have an aftermarket alarm system, if that helps.

You are getting voltage to lamps, with driver side door switch? But, no light? This is very weird.

Double check any connectors by the work you are doing to the window seals & the ragtop area. My bet is there are some lamp wiring routed around there.

Good luck! Keep us posted.
