A test pipe isn't a test pipe if it's a high-flow cat. A test pipe is just a straight piece of pipe with absolutely nothing in it. A high flow cat still has some of the "catalytic converter" material in it. Might not be quite as restrictive as the stock cat, but it isn't as free-flowing as a test pipe.

Then why does your post above state that you're buying the high flow cat? And the picture you displayed is also a high flow cat, as opposed to a test pipe.

It is a test pipe, and maybe one that is better than a muffler shop special straight pipe...

'For maxiumum exhaust flow and power gain, the stock catalytic converter must be replaced with a free flowing test pipe. T1R offers the Racing Converter, a high flowing resonated test pipe, for this purpose. Unlike most test pipes which are simply straight pipes and increase exhaust noise significantly, the Racing Converter is fully resonated to reduce sound levels. It is a fully plug and play unit; it is a direct fit replacement and comes with all the necessary sensor holes. When installed in conjuction with header and exhaust, a 3-5whp gain can be expected. Like all T1R exhaust products, the Racing Converter is made from SUS304 aircraft grade stainless steel and features TIG welded construction. Recommended for track and race use only.'

Ahhh... 'tis a resonated test pipe. That's what was throwing me. I thought there was catalyst material in the big box. I'm used to seeing test pipes, not test resonated pipes.

I stand corrected. Thanks for clearing things up.
