My original pads on my 2002 are at 82K miles and still have 1/8th of an inch left. I've never had a set of pads last more than 30K before, is this common on the S? Is there any reason to replace the pads just because of age? It's my daily driver so it gets a lot of commuter miles, but I do tool around on mountain roads (never on a track or anything like that).
The age isn't a concern - but the pad depth can be. Shop manual says to replace them if they're less than 0.06-inch, so you have some more time since yours are at 0.125-inch. Just keep an eye on them.
