Default Over rev

So basically I over revved the absolute h*ll out of first gear. I had my foot to the floor(I didn't drop the clutch) & I accelerated all the way through first gear, but when I got to the redline, I was distracted & just didn't shift. I felt my car accelerate then the fuel cut off or whatever & I was like "sh*t."

Anyways, the valves started ticking, so I took the car to a local shop(Trackforged) & had them adjust & take a look at my retainers on Wednesday the 21st. They said everything checked out & looked fine besides a rattle in the cat.

Now it's the 24th, & there's a plastic sounding rattle/tick which from research, sounds like a noisy injector which I'm not really worried about. But I also can feel another type of knocking/ticking sound. I can feel it when I'm driving through the shift knob. I can hear it as well. The sound & quickness of the knock rises with the rpms which leads me to believe it's mechanical. Any input?

('00,68,3xx miles, all stock except for lowering springs, intake, and pressure plate)

Over rev is mechanical
Over rev is when you down shift from 6 to 1 or 5 to 1 and the engine rpm goes over the rev limiter due to speed
If you are in first and you acc , hit the rev limiter ,ecu cuts the fuel ....... you didn't over rev it and the engine is fine

What could possibly be causing this ticking/knocking? It's only began to occur after said incident.

Copy. I've attempted to take a sound clip, but you can't really hear it.

I'm not really sure how to explain the sound/feel. It sort of sounds like it's in VTEC but to a lesser degree.. At around 4-5k, it feels/sounds like the cams or something is moving harder or whatever than it should. It almost feels like it's a rumble. It gives the exhaust a somewhat low rumble. I feel like I'm making it sound worse than it really is but that's the only way to explain it that I can think of... It's almost like it's low on oil, but I checked two nights/mornings ago after work and it appeared to be fine. Mostly I'm just paranoid about it.

Not trying to discredit what you're saying but with your low miles and your "incident," could you perhaps be a bit more observant (paranoid) of noises that already existed? I have litstened to several s2k engines. They are all fairly noisy IMO (very subjective). Really try to be aware of your car in its current state and be looking out for changes. Try to listen for abrupt changes, then you may have a problem(s) .
