Pretty well-calibrated ears, I'd say.

i would say go get a valve cover gasket kit, pull the valve cover and make sure everything looks happy.

$40 for the gasket and a half hour of time is worth an engine to me.

If you down shifted and the RPMs spiked above 9k, you COULD be in trouble. If you really have the ears of a cheetah and it only went to 92 or 9300rpm, then you're fine. But I expect you don't.

With the AP1, external signs of damage from an over-rev might not show up until much, much later (at which point it's too late because you have just dropped a valve). You need to pull the valve cover and check the retainers for damage now and again in ~5k. You don't need as gasket kit.. it's rubber and should be in fine shape.

Your car should be fine.....I've hit rev limiter many times
there's no rev limiter for mechanical overrev by driver error

VC gasket should be still good, i pulled mine about 5-6 times and still rocking the same one with great success.

after my over-rev, compression and leakdown checked out fine...but 8 months or so later, i had bad compression and leakdown numbers...had to service the head for warped valve guides.

can't explain it...just an fyi.

Get a flashlight and a dental / automotive mirror and check the underside of the retainers. If they are cracked they must be replaced. If anything has happened it will most likely be on the intake side.

If the retainer is cracked, the cotters will become dislodged as the retainer walks up the valve stem. This will make a small wear mark on the valve stem and eventually cause it to break. When mine broke the very tip of the valve stem and the cotters were still stuck in the retainer.

i know, after reading a lot of topics on the subject , here on s2ki. i went outside and checked the spark plug , they are fine ( according to some pictures i saw ) destroy spark plugs = new engine.

I'm going to pull the valve cover tomorrow and check the valve spring and everything else, if something is damage i should be able to see it right?
