Default OVERHEAT!

Hi guys,

I got this problem... my car would spontaneously overheat from time to time, regardless of the weather. I noticed that when the car is in overheat-mode, the heater does not blow hot air, as if the coolant is not cycling. After a few minutes of driving though, the temp goes down and the heater starts blasting hot air again... When this first happened, i turned off the engine and noticed that the reservoir under the hood his close to the brim, way past the 'max' mark on the bottle.

I've already replaced the stock thermostat with a mugen unit and changed the coolant and bled the system. Any ideas? Waterpump??

Are you certain the system is properly bled?

whats weird is that this happened before i touched the cooling system. it was all bone stock when this happened... how did air get in the system all of a sudden? Car is daily driver for 7 years, 80 miles round trip every day. didnt have this issue until last week!

i guess ill try rebleeding with the front jacked up

Good question, how did air get in the cooling system. Just a couple of guesses: rad cap or maybe one of the bleeders was snugged tight?? U got me curious, let us know what u find out.Super Negcamber is the man,bet he would have some ideas on this.

I have the same problem. Car overheat and the heater is not blowing warm air. When I open my hood the reserved tank for coolant is way pass the MAX line. I tried bleeding it and that didnt work. Any suggestion on how to fixed the problem? Where is the thermostat located?

Reservoir tank past the max mark means a blown head gasket. Compression is leaking into the cooling system and pushing coolant out the bottle. Stop driving and get it checked .
