overheating?

Default overheating?

i was driving and it was a very hot day.. i was sitting in traffic and it just died, it has happened before many times. could my temp sensor be bad and shut off the motor? i have a comptech supercharger but stock header, i know that thats a problem but i dont know if its so bad to shut off the motor..

I'm still trying to work out what the question is.

Which temp sensor are you asking about? The Engine Coolant Temperature sensor won't shut down the engine. It just lights up one light if you're cold and loads if you are hot. One a 2001 2 lights is preferable.

And what is bad about a Comptech Supercharger and stock header and what would it have to do with temperature?

I expect your problem is to do with your ICV (Idle Control Valve). Might need a clean out.
