Okay, so i have a P0411, and yes i have an intake, and yes it is installed correctly. But the thing is, the car at idle shutters pretty hard and pretty often at lights. If i hold the throttle at about 1500rpms the car acts fine. But it idles at 500 or so which i believe is low. It also back fires when i take off in the end of 1st and beggining of second, and it has before when i am in 6th and go about 40mph. I think it is the IAC but i dont know. How could this throw a P0411, and how could it cause the shutter/backfire in sixth gear? TIA
Could be a secondary air problem. It operates during decel also. after your car is warmed up, disconnect the vacuum line at the air control valve and disconnect the large air hose from the air control valve also, to disable the secondary air system and see if its any better. Its perfectly safe to drive the car this way.
I"ve been having this same CEL for a long time. Finally found the root of the problem, my ECU. I didn't have the backfire you speak of, but I got the code all the time. I am completely stock.
There is a bulletin for changing your air pump and relay if you are overheating, take it to honda and see if you qualify. I got lucky on my ECU due to it is emissions related and I was under 80k (barely).
i thank you both, i am going to try as much as possible without going to the stealership. And to others, throw your 2cents in to just incase these dont work. Thank you all, this site rocks!
actually one question S2Kart, on the vacuum valve solenoid, do i pull the one on the tip that sticks straight out or the one that is on the side with two opennings?
check your vacuum lines. be sure to make sure the one way check valve is also put on in the right orientation.
0411 is not a major CEL - do NOT goto the dealership until you've tried all otehr options!
the 'shudder' you are referring to is normal. our MAP sensor isnt the best. its the car freaking because it isnt used to reading the amount of air your new intake is throwing into the motor. it will go away in a few days when the ECU learns whats going on.
this intake has been on o=for over a year! so that is not it. i just replaced my sparks and coilpacls because i had a misfire on all four cylinders. Cleared the codes and now i am getting the P0411

The air control valve - the valve near the back of the intake manifold and the firewall. After your engine is warmed up, disconnnect the small vac line that goes to the top of it, as well as the 3/4" hose that connects to its side. This prevents the valve from opening but also allows the air pump to blow air without going overcurrent. It will tell you if your air valve, air solenoid valve, air pump relay, air pump current sensor, or air pump is going wiggy.
If your car runs alot better this way, you most likely have a sec. air issue. You might throw a P1410 also, but that's ok because it is just due to having the air valve disconnected.
