Default p1399

The car only misfires at idle it seems. (if i rev to 1k it will not miss a beat) The car ran a 13.798 @ 100.1 mph completely stock with this problem so I dont think its misfiring above 5900 rpm. The CEL only comes on when the car has set and idled for more than 5 mins. Not always either. It does seem to run kind of rough at about 800 rpm it will then also sometimes run bout 900 and seem fine just to idle for a while and start running 800 with noticeable mis here and there. If I dont clear the code it will go off on its own and prob come back on again in 10 days.

I did search couldnt find nething non consistent like this.

Thank you guys for your help in advance.

Idles rough? U can hope for bad plugs, bad wire, bad coil pack, bad injector but it could be the head ! If its an AP1 i'd rule out the easy items then focus on the non bullet proof, falls apart if you push it, Ap1 S2000 head.

More than likely either injectors or coils...how many miles on the car?

Just as likely to be a spark plug (and that's a cheaper fix).

THank you for the input. The car has 36k. AP2 2.2L Ive put prob 15000miles on the problem, its not getting worse. Not making valve noise. Do you think that maybe the valves could be out of adjustment and no noise. How do I know if the head or valves are bad? Any other way than a compression test?. How do you check the coil pack? Wires all show .01 ohms. #4 int he back or front? Are these things warranty?

My car idled funny and shook when at idle. At all other times, it was perfect. Purred perfectly to redline.

If i were you, I'd find a REPUTABLE S2000 deelor and bring the car in for warranty work, the car should still be covered.

Altho, please note last time i brought my car in for work they fixed one thing and broke two others...
