Painting oem AP2 V1 Wheels?
Since the search function is down I was wondering for those that prep the wheels really well such as sanding the hell out of them and stripping after awhile does your paint start to chip or flake? Especially around the edge of the rim where it's polished, someone on honda-tech said they didn't take the tire off and couldn't get that spot very well and he could pick the paint off with his finger nail! And also does anyone have any pics on their cars or tips? thanks.
I couldn't find the right set of rims for my car or offsets in my price range so i figure I would just paint my stock ones! Gunmetal ftw!

Sounds like whoever painted them didnt do a good job of taping them up. As for prepping them, all you really need to do is tape off the polished areas not to be painted and use scotchbrite pads to scuff the factory paint. When you scuff them, you need to knockoff the shine on the painted parts. after that, you should use a paint cleaner, available at most auto parts stores, to wipe off the sanded areas and then paint it the color you want, no primer needed.
