Default Passenger Window Help!

Hello S2ki members. I have had this problem for a couple of months now! So any advice could help!

Ok my problem is that my passenger window won't go up!! It does, however, go down fine. I know its not the safety switch on the drivers side(i wish it was), and i replaced the door wiring, but nothing. Then I went to the dealers and i spent like 6 bills on them, and they still have not fixed it. Well actually they claimed they fixed it one day, and i was so freakin excited, but when i got into my car...nothing!!! They told me it was either my main window switch or the soft top control unit. Well i bought new ones and still nothing. Then they insisted that it was the control units fault and that it shorted out it there somehow....or something like that. I took it out of the dealers and have been messing with it for a while.
I got a new control unit, but I am afraid of putting it in because I don't want to short that out as well. There is power going to the passenger switch and the motor works fine (with a couple of cables), but I have no idea why it will go down, but not up!! I don't know if there is like a power converter for that side of the car or what!
If anyone can help me that would be awesome!!!
Thanks for the help

bump for you.

are you sure youre getting enough power to the motor? sounds like bad ground/bad connection/bad switch to me..

If your motor is getting less than MAX power it would explain why it can only go down and not up...down = less effort, so requires less power.

if its not getting any voltage when you click "up" on the window switch...beats the hell out of me...

when the switch is up, it should be getting SOME sort of power registering on the DMM..if its not, thats really weird....start tracing it to the switch. check for power AT the switch...etc etc...do you have a wiring diagram?

i had to find what was making my AC not work on MY01........changed a shitload of stuff, til i got a Full Service Manual from a pal. traced the wires back to the relays...it was a bad relay, go figure. try check that too, my s2000 had TWO bad relays...very strange.

and yeah, hope you figure it out!

Get hold of a helms manual. The testing for your window circuits etc is done from jumping various connections at the convertible top control box. That's below the dash on the passenger side. You can test each circuit and isolate the problem.

Try this on pass switch

Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

Thanks for the advice guys!!!
I found out that the passenger side window switch didn't let the power flow freely in the upward position, but the downward worked fine. So basically all I have to do is buy a new switch and its all good. Damn dealers could figure out anything, i even told them it had to be something with the passenger door, but nooo. But anyways thanks for the help!!
