Default Pin for Crank Pulley?

Which way do I insert this back into the groove on the crank and chain gear?

The beveled edge goes inward toward the motor, and against the crank. Hope that makes sense.

As far in as it can, the crank bolt tightening on the crank pulley will ensure it is all the way in though.

BTW it's called a Key. More specifically a combination parallel and tapered Key.
