I had mine done approximately 8K miles ago. My car was never really bad until it reached about 20,000 miles, then it kept getting worse until it got to the point where people riding in the car thought that there was something seriously wrong with the car. I had to really fight for Honda to cover mine under warranty (25K miles on the car and it was 4 years old), but after the service advisor rode in my car, he knew the old "it's normal" or "they all do that" argument would not work (it was that bad). Had the clutch disck replaced for free, but paid for a new pressure plate (they would not cover that, and I didn't want to use an old pressure plate on a new clutch disk). The results were amazing - like a whole different car. So far, after almost 10K miles and 1 1/2 years, it is still almost as quite as the day I drove it home. I would reccommend the swap.

I had it done on my '01, the buzz returned shortly after, but it was not nearly as noisy. My '04 also has the same noise, but again not as bad. I just live with it

PrimoGen,
I'm leaning towards the same thing myself. Especially if the noise is likely to return in another 40k or so.

Trip,
Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Maybe I'll have better luck.

Dave,
There's no "paying attention" necessary any more. I think I pointed the noise out to you about 3 years ago on the way back to downtown from Champs when it was minor. Now, it's "Hey, what's wrong with your car?" loud. Thanks for offering to help. I'll probably take my time, pull the transmission and then decide what parts to order.

Txst,
Mine started at about 25k and as I said before, and now at 35k people ask me what's wrong with my car.

Koala,
Thanks for the info.

Hardtopguy.com sells a complete kit that he has sourced together himself.

I've got 40k miles on it and love it, so do lots of my customers. NA or FI.
