If I have a LITTLE bit of detonation, but no way of retarding the timing, do you think I can just add more fuel?

Open to all opinions...

Enriching the mixture will definitely reduce or eliminate detonation, but only up to a point, after which detonation may actually increase. This was discovered by H. Ricardo in the early 1930s after extensive research and published in his book "The High-Speed Internal Combustion Engine". Assuming you are FI, the best way to overcome detonation at increased boost levels in to add water injection. I suggest you check out the Aquamist 2D system. Information on it can be found at http://www.aquamist.co.uk/ and http://www.ppeengineering.com/ .

Hi
The Vortech black box can retard timing and it appears to be re-writeable
