2003 that I have been driving for a year and a half with about a dozen auto-x events. I wanted to drive it for at least 1 season before changing anything from factory spec. Bone stock car with 10,000 mile S-02s on front, new rear S-02s.

was:
front L/R
camber -0.5 -0.4
caster 6.0 6.1
toe out -0.11* -0.09* total -0.20*

rear L/R
camber -1.4 -1.3
toe in 0.36* 0.34* total 0.70*

now:
front L/R
camber -1.5 -1.5
caster 5.8 5.8 maxed
toe out 0.01* 0.00*

rear L/R
camber -2.0 -2.0
toe in 0.13* 0.12* total 0.24*

I made the mistake of telling the tech 1/4 total toe-in for the rear and he interpreted 0.25 degrees, which if my number crunching is correct, is slightly less than 1/8 inch total toe-in rear. After getting home I noticed my mistake but I am going to give it a try. With the new rears and old fronts the car might be very well balanced this coming weekend. If not I will head back and dial in .60* for the 1/4 inch total I was after.

How do the aligment specs here translate to AP2 cars? I have an '04 and I know the spring rates, swaybars and rear subframe are different. What the recommendation? I'm interested in spirited street driving, cayon carving and perhaps a hpde in the future. On stock 17" and RE-050.

quick question. .

the guy doing my alignment said that the caster has to be different from each side..

like 6.0 left, 5.5 right.. he said. .because if not it will not go in a straight line, he said it would pull. .

i wanted to tell him that caster has nothing to do with pull, especially with zero steering angle. .but i didnt

did he have any reasoning behind that?

i'm on uk specs, but they're messed up. forgot that they were in degrees so i'm running .20 each side, total toe .40

cos the road is never flat, almost all will crown to the right side (in NA) for drainage purpose.

but not all the road is crowned to the right. my car doesnt pull at all thought. and my caster is dead even on both sides. i guess i dont see how caster affects pull, at zero steering angle, caster has no affect on the car.

Very few responses from AP2 (04+) owners.

I am running my first auto-x in my new S2000 on the 7th and I need to get it aligned before then, I read that the optimal settings are different between the AP1s and the AP2s. Car is stock.

Thanks in advance for the recommended settings.

Wow, those are some aggressive numbers. Considering you've gutted the seat and some interior for the rollbar, I think you already know that. Is -3.5deg front camber controllable?

MY06, all values for both sides, all stock

Front Caster 6

A couple weeks ago I lowered my 02' about 1.3" with Espilir springs. After letting them settle for a while, I bought a new set of ASA AR1 wheels with General Exclaim UHP 215/45ZR17 and 245/40ZR17 tires. Today I got an allignment done to make sure everything was all set. I was very surprised by the ammount of toe I had on all four wheels. the camber was here I expected it to be though. For reference, the front S02's were very worn on the inside at the change.

BEFORE:

Front:

Camber Left: -0.3
Camber Right: -0.5
Toe Left: 4.7
Toe Right: 7.4

Rear:

Camber Left: -1.7
Camber Right: -1.9
Toe Left: 6.4
Toe Right: 5.0

AFTER (OEM specs)

Front:

Camber Left: -0.5
Camber Right: -0.6
Caster Left: 5.7
Caster Right: 5.6
Toe Left: 0.1
Toe Right: 0.1

Rear:

Camebr Left: -1.2
Camber Right: -1.6
Toe Left: 2.8
Toe Right: 2.8

Car was a bit less twitchy afterward, though it wasn't much to begin with. One thing I am happy about though, but don't understand, is that before the allignment, the rear wheels rubbed more than they do now. It was never bad, only when on the highway and a big bump, but now it is 99% gone.
