Default Powder Coat Or Paint

I AM PLANNING TO COLOR THE WHEELS ON MY BIKE. IS IT BETTER TO POWDER COAT OR PAINT? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POWDER COATING, AND PAINTING? PRO'S AND CON'S OF EACH PLEASE? $? CLEANING? LOOKS? HOW LONG IT WILL LAST? I AM GOING TO COLOR THEM WHITE.

Powder coating lasts longer with less worry of chipping, but tends to be more expensive. Short answer: if you can afford it, go PC.

I think the going rate is around $45-75/wheel depending on whether you get clear coat on it or not. I've heard of people getting it done for as little as $15/wheel though.

Amit!
Powdercoat the wheels!! One of the best powdercoating places is right near your town! I think their name is Olympic Powdercoating in Santa Ana.

Just a thought, my friend spray painted the wheels on his maxima. He painted them gunmetal, and even sprayed a clear coat over it. He spent about 20 bucks for the whole thing. I'd never do something like that on my S, but I think it might do for the bike. Even if it chips later on, I can re-do it and possible use a different color the next time. Any opinions.
