test your clutch

put it in 1st gear.. ebrake all the way up.. no gas.. just release clutch pedal slowly and if it does out or starts to grab at the very end of the pedal travel you need a new clutch ..

Next thing I'd do is put the stock spark plugs back in.

No reason to put the stock plugs back in, the car only got better with the new ones... and the clutch is very drivable, and it grabs, I'm just thinking that it may be constantly and slightly slipping. just enought to feel about a 20bhp lose.

Have fun replacing the blown motor after one of those tips break off those shitty bosch plugs

U really think that these plugs will break off ugh?? if the values hit they they'd hit the stock ones also. got anything real to back up your claim?? let me know. At worst the Bosch plug would make no difference, got them in my truck also for 2 years now, they're fine.

Don't say you werent warned.

Theres a reason why people say use only OEM plugs in this car.

OEM plug has 1 contact point, whereas the bosch has 4. thats a 400% higher chance of a contact breaking off.

Not only that but I had a lot of problems with my non-OEM plugs in my Integra after just 30k, the NGK's or Denso's are more expensive but they are the only ones I will use.

What are you experiencing that causes you to say you have a sudden loss of torque?
- Dyno numbers?
- Engine bog when taking off from a stop light?
- Engine cutting out intermittently at high rpms?

First off, I also work for Audi, as a certified tech, and you are making us look bad. Secondly, you are getting good information here when people are telling you to use the stock plugs. Third, we need more information. What has been done to the car? Any modifications to the engine?

If the Audi tech you had look at it said you need a new clutch, I would be inclined to believe him. Audi has plenty of cars out there that are standard transmission cars, and odds are this tech has seen one or two (at least) that need new clutches.

I would do the clutch test mentioned above and then come back with the results.

seriously...whats with the attitude.

anyway, what do you mean by loss of torque...how significant is it..

it the clutch is slipping, thats a totally different issue.

also, even if you don't take billman's advice...be sure you listen to what he has to say and consider it seriously.
