POWER LOSE
if you're getting good compression, you shouldn't need a leakdown test.
BUT...i highly doubt the results of your compression test if you're feeling "power loss" without any other problems.
leakdown is more foolproof, costs about 45 bucks. have a mechanic do it...

Weather could have played a part, the hotter it gets I would imagine it would pull the timing
Reset the ECU
Second idea: Bad gas, which will also result in the ecu pulling the timing
Reset the ECU
Third idea: Get a Dyno run in, it will speak for itself

What kind of oil? 20W-50?
I'll second iDomN8U second idea: bad gas.
Put the OEM sparkplugs back in.
Give the MAP a Wack.
Long shot: one of the cat's cores has broken into pieces and is blocking the exhaust. Any rattle from down there?
Allthough the metal foil cores don't break up like ceramic cores may.
Btw.. the OEM clutch is pretty good.
Only if you go FI you may really need a stronger PP.
If you can't recognize a slipping clutch and think it is "Loss of torque" ....
No engine light on. New Oil. Basically the car no longer has the KICK

If your shifts suddenly feel "smoother" than maybe your clutch is slipping... Have you done the clutch test yet? Another way to test is going up a steep uphill, mash the gas, if the RPMs go up but the car doesn't move, you have a slipping clutch. Best done close to peak torque.
I bet your just used to your car, that's all.
When I first got this car, I thought is was so fast, I couldn't even go to red line without thinking I was driving like a mad man. Now, I think the thing is a slug

i know i asked before.. but what was done right before it felt like you had a power lost.. even the smallest things. got gas.. weather changed.. nail in tire.. got new tires.. brake job.. anything.. small to big.. that could affect or not affect your car.. its odd.. that it was just all of a sudden..
No, I never really thought that S2000s were fast, sorry guys I sell Audi's I think the new 3.2 TT is faster, so is my old 2.7 Bosxter, RS4, S4, s6, and a crap load of others. I do know that the S2000 is quicker than all of them (maybe not the RS4). The shit is driving me crazy, I'm not the only butt dyno around that notived with, 3 people whom know my car did... I'll keep you all updates.

Next thing I'd do is put the stock spark plugs back in.
the only place those spark plugs are good in is applications that are designed from the start to use spark plugs with that many prongs.
and no your piston or valve will not break off the prongs...its caused by heat/wear..and its basic common sense...if you have 4 failure points instead of 1 you have a 400% more chance of failing...you can't argue with this logic like you can with "people on the internet telling me they're bad"...also billman basically specializes in fixing s2k's...anytime he says something you should listen and take note.
the reason i know to use only oem spark plugs is because my step dad is a shop foreman of a local diesel shop...he's on the curriculum board for the local vo-tech mechanic program and basically has final say if students pass or not. he has over 25 years of experience in engines...when he says i shouldn't be fooled by "advertising gimmicks" like "oh it has more prongs it must be better!!!" then i'm not gonna be fooled...also if they were so good all cars would COME WITH THEM.
another reason...my uncle who is an ASE master certified technician who's also worked at one of the top local dealerships for over 20 years has said the same exact thing about the spark plugs...waste of money and it has the chance to destroy your engine because its just not made for that application.
you don't have to listen to "people telling you how it is on the internet" if you don't want to. but i'll always know the truth and the people like me will always look at you and say..come on man..we're just trying to help and some of us know a shit load more than you...and i'm not talking about myself.
