anyway like other people have said...first check the obvious

bad clutch

bad tank of gas..seriously this will affect it a lot its a 11.0 compression motor, NA, think about it...

pending cel?? dunno about this one...

my personal guess is that you rev'ed it and a valve got way out of wack. like way out of wack...there's a guy in my forum gink5...his car had gears, exhaust, intake.. and was getting pulled on by stock s2k's..haha he took it into billman for a valve adjustment and said his car feels like he got 20ft lb's of torque back..

and seriously...listen to people, we're trying to help you man...sigh...

Find another s2k owner in the area and flip flop cars and go for a drive.

yep, I don't have that much info for you all. like I said, I'll let you know when I do, and I think that $11 plugs (not $20) do good because of evidence and experience with them, I have not had the bad luck with them that others may have had yet... possible issues have been noted.

I'll do some valid work and repost later.

thanks

if you're getting good compression, you shouldn't need a leakdown test.

BUT...i highly doubt the results of your compression test if you're feeling "power loss" without any other problems.

leakdown is more foolproof, costs about 45 bucks. have a mechanic do it...
Engines with good compression can have bad leakdown numbers. The old engine in my Miata had good compression (175-185 psi) in all 4 cylinders, but horrible leak-down in one (38%) and poor leakdown in two others (18 & 20%).

A leak-down test will show how the engine is behaving under compression. If it isn't holding compression, that indicates wear and decreased performance is a likely result. When done properly, the test can help diagnose poor ring seating or poor valve sealing. It's not a bad thing to do on any higher mielage engine, even if it shows good results. That eliminates one possible concern and serves as a baseline for future diagnoses.

BTW, by blowing off the advice (change back to OEM spark plugs) of several very knowledgeable and experienced members of this board, it is less likely you will receive additional advice from them in this thread.

I have seen failures of non-OEM (Denso) plugs in the S2000. Just because you have not personally experienced a problem with Bosch plugs, why ignore information from a variety of sources that suggest they are a bad idea for the car?

map whack it, i did yesterday and i noticed the RPM is back to normal, no almost stalling out with the clutch fully in, no more laggy acceleration. with the map whack i noticed a very big difference, it helped out alot and was very easy to do not sure if this helps you man but it wouldnt hurt to try it if your having a problem with the idle and laggy power.

Alright, I just drove a 2007 S2k today, It had a much better clutch (I do think the pedal was soft) The 07 was actually slower than my car, maybe because it wasn't broken in, or maybe because I have nice spark plugs and killed the Air box.....

Problem solved, it

I don't see why you're so into these BS spark plugs. How do you know your car is making more power? Have you dyno'd it before/after the plugs on the same day? I'm willing to bet no - that your rear end (not your differential, the one connected to you) thinks they are better just like all the kids with the DC header.

They are crap - get them out of your car.

As for the clutch, I recommend Competition Clutches. The stage 2 is nice for a stock setup like yours.

Well I like them and I've had them in other cars before, these things come stock on BMWs, and Audis, I have them in my truck for 2 years also, if they suck so much why do the Germans use them as OEM....

I know that they're making more power because they did, the car was faster after instalation, don't always need a dyno for that. maybe the stocks ones were going or dirty, but It really made a small difference.

I'll post after I do a clutch job

Try it in your car....LOL
