power steering going in and out

Default power steering going in and out

my powersteering will work sometimes then quite working or sometimes it will only work when i turn to one side and not work on the other side.

anyone ever had this problem? if so can u tell me how to fix it plz?

only sometimes it's like my powersteering can fix itself. when it's not working the lights on and when it does the lights off.

Could be a short/loose connection/damaged wire that is barely hanging on and it's going on and off depending on which way you turn. Sorry, I don't know anything else about your problem.

alright well im not too worried about it right now cause i am naturally aspirated and it's not a HUGE problem. but i will definetly have to fix before i go forced induction

the previous owner did say it was the bearings going bad??? idk if that helps. i dont know much about the eps of the s2ks

Hmm check the steering rack boots and see if they're ruptured. I just replaced an steering rack on an ap1 that completely failed simply because moisture got inside the electronics due to a ripped boot. His symptoms were very similar to yours for a few months until it eventually quit for good.

If you have an EPS light, you'll have to have the code read, either by the dealer or by someone who has a scanner tool that does honda EPS.
