Default Priming the Oil System

My car's been sitting for 3 months and I'm about to take it out this weekend. I've been doing research on priming the oil system so I don't run the engine dry.

So far I've gathered that I need to disconnect the fuel pump fuse and the coil packs and crank it for 10-15 seconds. My question is, do I also need to remove the spark plugs? Also, can someone show or describe where the coil packs are under the cover? I've never removed it.

Thanks.

coil packs are the 4 "things" you'll find under the cover that says VTEC on it. once you remove those, the spark plugs will be underneath, inside.

I see. Sorry for being such a noob. So do I need to remove the spark plugs along with the coil packs?

Take your key, insert, and push start button.

Do you plan on pulling your spark plugs each morning to prime the motor before you start it? Do you manually prime your motor after each oil change?

You could pull both your battery cables off, push it down your driveway and drop the clutch. That'll turn it over a few times

My car just sat for 6 months. I just changed the oil and started it up. No priming or anything. I let it run for 15 minutes or so to get everything lubricated again and off I went.

I agree, this isn't an old Chevy, I store mine every winter for 5+ months, just check the oil level and start it, run 15 minutes.

The oil pump is immersed in oil in the sump so is primed and ready to pump.

If you really want to prime it, disconnect the fuel pump relay and crank it all you want.
