Default PROBLEM installing megan header

in the middle of installing the megan header right now on my 01. the o2 bung is exactly under the frame/body of the car- so there is no way the o2 can be installed(no clearance). As it is, there is no way the header will go on correctly. anyone else have these issues? are there different headers for different MY?

Pics bellow show the o2 bung placement under the body ( i did try to bend some of the shielding a little to see if that would help- it didnt.

any help greatly appreciated. for now my buddy and I will start on pulling the diff. i will check back in a bit

New PIC:

I have been looking and pulled up a pic showing the o2 bung on this megan header being at an angle like OEM. where mine is litterally vertical with zero angle

yes its some sort of shield that runs along a good porton of the underbody. the megan headers bung comes out at a 90* angle straight up where the OEM comes out at about a 60* angle allowing for clearance between the body and the trans

This has just happened to me the o2 seems to be welded on the wrong angle. It touches the trans tunnel, I called megan they told me the header is desgined for the AP1 I have an AP2 and now the header is sitting on my workbench =( if only the bung was welded a few degrees torwards the driver side right?? lol

Basically they told me that's all they could do with the poor fitment but im working on a soulution.

Well...the OP has an ap1. Sounds like a manufacturing error.

I helped install one 2 weeks ago. The primary O2 sensor fit ok in the header, but the secondary on the TP was rubbing on the underbody heatsheild.

If you screw the O2 sensor in before bolting on the header it will work. It will just be snug against the wall. I just helped 02SebringSilverS2k install the megan header on his AP2. Worked just fine.

the location of the o2 bung is about an inch into the body panels underside. with it screwed in, it will still not clear as is.

That is not right. Try to get your money back. All the megan headers I have seen have not had an issue like that.

i am working with the s2ki sponsor i received the part from. so far he is being very helpful with the situation.

im thankful this happened during the winter while im driving the truck and while the s2k is away for the winter. but at any rate its still disappointing to run through circles.
