The main prob Ive noticed is that some knockoff parts are being used under the Megan Racing name. I bought an ebay header made in China and it is exactly like the Megan header, which is designed like the oem header but with bigger primaries, and it had the same prob! I banged the heat shield back and cut off a piece but still not enough room. I emailed the ebay seller and he sent me another one without any fuss. I didnt even send him the one I had. The next one DID have the bung set to the side like oem. Fit good. Im sure he knew of the prob but he is just trying to get them out of his warehouse.

All this for $70 USD!

So double check its a REAL Megan header.

Hope this helps.
Who did you get your Megan knockoff header from? At that price I want one!

How has your header worked out so far for you? What does that ass dyno say?

I have a question when you guys that installed this header and it fit. Did you remove the heatshroud from underneath the car???
I didnt remove anything. Should fit like oem, seems to come down a little more than oem but not much to create a problem on lowered cars.

One thing I did do though was take it to a muffler shop and have a bracket welded on the inside bottom where the oem bracket was to bolt it up to the block like the oem bracket. For support! I didnt like the fact it was all held up by the flange. no bueno.

Anyone know the weight of the megan header? Any weight savings over stock?

no numbers but picking them both up feels about half the weight of the oem header.

doesnt have all the brackets to mount up the heat shield. lighter metals being used too.

looks like he is selling them for a little more but if u look around u will find the same header a bit cheaper but this is pretty cheap as is. Better to find a OBO link to it so u can try to lower it a bit.

culo dyno says it works pretty good but weight reduction was worth it too. Good budget header. Add that with a resonated test pipe and it will sound very clean. I have that set up with the oem exhaust with the mufflers cut off and it sounds very good. Better than my Magnaflow single exhaust I had on.

It looks okay to me. There is a lot of room above the collector.
The problem with these is when the bung is angled off to the side.

Looks good to me!

Installing soon?
