Default PSA: Do not recommend AP1 Slave on AP2

You can call it skill issue or whatever, but I genuinely do not recommend this.

Not only does the slave wire hang too low because of it, you WILL have to grind down part of the hose.
The alignment pin length on the AP1 slave does not make it possible without doing such a thing.

After you do this, you need to be excellent with positioning the hose in order to maintain access for a 12mm socket.

It is much better to buy another AP2 slave cylinder and delete the CDV than to go purchase an AP1 slave cylinder.

However, after deleting the CDV, car feels great. Or the new clutch feels great. No clue.

I have an ap2 engine and transmission and 10lb flywheel with an AP1 slave I didn't find any difficulty installing it.

Terrible wording from me.

The small nib that protrudes
The small nib that protrudes

You grind this down and cut it to about half of its length. This is only needed because the AP1 alignment interface is not as long.

You could also install it without inserting it between the pins.

In addition, I feel like the slave line hangs too low. I had to do some slightly janky routing:

oh ok that makes sense, I thought you meant an alignment pin on the cylinder itself and was confused
