Default Pulling head, can't get chain off sprocket

I'm trying to get the head of my MY00 and am following some advice here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry7472893 by Slows2k

I've got everything unbuttoned including the heck bolt that goes thru the sprocket and their is some up and down movement but I cant seem to get the chain to actually want to come off the sprocket even when its pushed down.

What are you guys doing that I am not seeing?

take the washer off of the front of the sprocket assembly. It will allow you to bring the assembly forward and out of the hole. Make SURE you take the chain off toward the cam sprocket toward the back of the motor.

ps don't drop the washer into the chain assembly. it could be fun to pull that out.

You remove the cams and rocker shafts /stands assembled. Remove the timing chain tensioner/ Then remove the bolt that the cam chain sprocket rotates on.

Don't drop the washer into the chain case.

The chain sprocket will drop, and you can push the chain off to the back side of the sprocket, towards the gear that drives both cams.

I've taken the front washer off no issue there -- I'm spent for the night but I'd like to ask one quick question before tomorrow when I have another go.

Where is the timing chain tensioner on these beasts? I did everything else you said Slow but that. After that does it just slip off? or do you have to work it off?

MINT! Head is now off, that was really no sweat? I guess maybe putting it on will be harder? Either way the cyls look so beautiful

Thanks for helping me out there, I don't know how I missed that in the Helms. I guess because I took everything else out first then looked on in the manual but that step was before the cam shafts. Thanks again!
