Purpose of the Engine Torque Damper

whenever you accelerate, launch, shift/shift hard, the engine will torque. the damper reduces the engine movement. i dont have this, but someone that does should shine some light

Theoretically it's suppose to stop your engine from moving under acceleration and deceleration, they-by transferring more power to the drive train and then wheels. However with a low torque motor like ours it is hotly debated whether it makes any real difference at all.

People with V8/high torque will use a chain among other techniques..

I believe you need torque to get any benefit from a torque dampener, hehe. They sure are pretty though.
