my S is a 2003 and it was 83500 miles on it. in the past couple of day i have notice that my instrument cluster light are going dim and then bright and then dim and then bright but when i give it gas or im driving it bright the whole time. now today i notice that when i move my steering wheel it make a little humming noise. i don't know if its me cause im crazy like that but its bothering me now that my warranty is done. i know that the steering is electric i just want to know if it could be an alternator problem battery or something simple please help!

 

sounds like the alternator to me. when it went on one of my other cars (which also had a digital cluster), it would dim as i let off the gas and get brighter as i accelerated. left the car for a 4 hour concert, came back and it was dead. replaced the alternator, problem solved.

 

ok well im going to go tomorrow to get my alternator checked!
