question about hardtop sidecatchers

would side catchers from a 2000 fit a 2006?

thanks, and i saw something about the side brushes..is that necessary? what does it do or would i be fine with just the side catchers

The brushes you have in there now, will be in the way. The replacement brushes are made with a gap in them to allow the pin to mate with the catcher. You could cut them, but why hack the car. It is only 30 for the set IIRC.

FYI, the catchers are the same, but on a pre-06, I noticed that you have to bang the metal on the car a little to get a little tab moved. On the 06+ (don't know about 08+), the inside metal of the car is slightly different and the catcher fits flush against where it's supposed to be.

good to know thanks, i found a pair of catchers but the guy doesnt have the bolts, could anyone tell me what size bolts id need.

I don't know the size offhand, but it's the same size as the original bolts that are on the car. You just need slightly longer ones. Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe someone else can chime in.
