Default Question about replacing hub and bearing

About a week and a half ago I had the hub and wheel bearing replaced in the front passenger upright. I heard a noise while driving which sounded like a wheel was loose. I thought it might have been that the lugs on the new hub had loosened. When I took that wheel off to inspect everything I noticed the rotor tipped back and forth when I pushed on it and it was actually pushing the brake pads away from itself when I did this. It is definitely a wheel bearing issue but does this symptom mean anything special? I thought they made strange noises when they were near failure so is this different?

My other question is about replacing the bearing. If I have to replace the bearing again should I also replace the hub? In the FAQ threads it says to replace the bearing when replacing the hub but I couldn't find anything about just replacing the bearing.

Let me know if this needs more clarification.

Thanks
