Default Question on the Air Bag System

Once the air bags have blown is the control unit toasted too or can you reuse it??

Once the bags or belt tensioners have deployed, the SRS unit must be replaced.

So I am coming to understand.

How depressing!!!!!

Any body know what happens if you replace the SRS but not the blown seat belts? Does it make the SRS crazy?

You still have the SRS light on, with DTC's stored for the belts

What does DTC stand for?

Things were a lot simpler when you were playing with british sports cars amd muscle cars in the 60"s/70's

So this may sound basic but I'm not an airbag expert. My car was rolled and the bags went off. I know I need to replace the bags, controller, and seatbelts, what about the clockspring and or any other sensors??

DTC stands for Diagnostic trouble code. To repair you need to replace the control unit, and any deployed component(bags, belts) The cable reel/clockspring is not normally damaged when the bags are deployed.
