Default Question On AP1 vs AP2 steering

Are the EPS systems and steering boxes the same in both AP1 and AP2s.

Or are there considerable differences ?

AP1 rack has a lower numerical ratio than the AP2 rack.

Thanks for the info. I have seen online schematics for resetting the Torque steering senor memory on an AP1 but have not seen one for AP2. Is there an online place i could view the instructions ?

Thanks,

This is what Honda wrote for the 07-08 change.

- Quicker steering ratio of 13.8:1 (compared to 14.9:1) Steering goes from 2.6 to 2.4 lock to lock
- Added steering gear box stiffeners
So what are stiffeners?

That's one thing on the CR that catches my attention: the steering stiffening bracket. Although I've only had my S for 1000mi, and the steering is very accurate, I do wish there was a bit more feedback through the steering wheel. I'm hoping the CR's rack brace is just a bolt-in affair but I have the feeling that the CR has special bosses for it...

I really don't understand that. The Honda parts manual says that it's the same torque sensor for all model years of the AP2 generation. Further, it says that the harness is the same for all model years regardless of generation 1 or 2.

I don't have an answer to that.
i hope the mechanics know if there is a difference
