Hey VTEC Phil -

Do you have pics/dynos of your setup? I just picked up a spare airbox to modify. I was thinking of the "hole in the side" Coastal Metals approach with the fake air duct opened up.

Thanks in advance...

I'm sure you can search and find more info., but I went with a JR filter and Import Development intake. As you can see from the picture below, you still keep the stock air box (lids off in the picture to show filter). IMO it is a cleaner setup then the costal metals intake ...

Sure, no problem ... If my memory is correct, I think I paid $200 for the intake (new, but from a second party) and the JR filter cost about $50. I remember one of our sponsors made a fiberglass version of the intake, but I don't recall the price. Mine, as well as the Spoon is carbon. I think the fiberglass version was created by AUS2000 ???

One other item I added was the coastal metals front grill (not sure of the correct name), this does add protection to your radiator, as well as not allowing any larger objects to get into the intake.

Hope this helps.

I have the Spoon Air Filter, its pretty good I think, just have to clean it every other oil change. Comptech also makes a good one, cheaper than Spoon, but more sponge.
