Damn, looking at this makes me wonder why they didn't just make it with a snorkel coming out of it, like a psuedo-Mugen CAI...

Oh, that's my plan! I've got the K&N filter and spoon "CAI" duct installed... so adding this cf cover will make it!

It seems that the the OEM box has too small of an opening to really take advantage of the snorkel, so an aftermarket box cover should have been designed with a larger opening for a larger snorkel. I have seen a couple of the snorkels in person, and they look way to restrictive.

BlueHS2000

I got mine from Scienceofspeed.com its one of the sponsors in this board also.

Spoon is 195.00
Comptech is 65.00

Both are reusable, just wash and dry every other oil change. Fits stock so no need to replace airbox. If you have money to burn go Spoon, if not then go Comptech...it all depends on which company you like better...because either one is good. Ill try and post a pic once I get my camera some batteries.

One item to keep in mind is that both the Spoon and Comptech are foam filters, while the JR & K&N are a gauze material and metal mesh construction. I have learned over the years that the foam filters tend to "clog" more easily when dirty. This is just my observation ... others may be able to explain the filtering abilities (pros & cons) of the two types of material a little better then I.

Hope this helps.

Jaysom is right, it tend to pick up dirt like crazy. Especially with a CAI. So its recommend that you check it every oil change, if not more depending on your driving habits.
