Questions about J's Racing Inner Fender Braces
Got the J's Racing inner fender braces and want to put them in myself, but not too sure how to take of the fenders or if it's a good idea that I take them off because of my worries of ill fitting fenders afterwards...
If anyone that has done this before could give me some helpfull tips that'd be cool or if someone could post a link to an instruction page that'd work too...
Thank You,
Philip

i just had my fenders off, all in all removal took maybe 5min per fender, longer if you are going slow n being patient....but my bumper and headlights were already off. i think you can get away with leaving them on and removing the fenders.....theres 3 bolts on the bottom side, 2 in the door jam and i wanna say 4 on the top of the fender....10mm
and as far as fitting them up again, its easy...just take ur time and get all the bolts in b4 you snug em up, slowly close the doors n hood 2 check your fit and youll be all good, as far as the bars go, if you hold them up 2 the side of the car with the fender off you eill see what bolts you need 2 remove in order 2 bolt them in.
i would say be careful with the door hinge bolts....try n keep the door shut and latched when you remove the bolts or have someone hold the door while its shut 2 make sure the front doesnt start to come out on you

regarding the door bolts, remove one at a time. tighten one back to spec then remove the other. that way the door stays aligned.
provided you take the 2 golden bolts out so the brace can sit flat aginst the car while you do the door bolts this may work but that brace would have 2 flex a lot in order to torq the top 2 door bolts n then try 2 remove the bottom 2 with the brace pushing on the bolt heads? think about how that brace sits, and whats it supposta do? stiffen the cahssis right? so i dont think its going to have enough flex to do one hinge n then the other. like i said keep the door closed, maybe have someone help you and take your time n u'll b fine, if u really want, find a piece of rubber or a wooden door shim, wrap it in masking tape n put it under ur door to retain your lower door gap.
I see your point, i was merely speculating on what I thought Radiozero meant. I do not have these nor have i ever installed a set, but from the picture you could remove the top set, place the brace on it, then install the top bolt from the two and swing the brace out of the way to get the bottom two off then install the other 3 bolts. That way you would at least have 1 bolt at all times helping to keep the door aligned. When I look at it, that is what jumps out to me as a possible way to help keep the door aligned, although its no too hard to get the door lined up again as long as you can get a buddy to help with steading the door.
