Default Quick AEM CAI install question

I just want to make sure that I have the correct hoses from AEM as a search showed that some people have gotten the incorrect ones. I have a total of three hoses.

1. 5/16 12inches
2. 1/2 12inches
3. 5/32 30inches

And thats it. I did a search and it looks like some of you have an additional 5/32 hose? I have a feeling that the picture in the below link has additional hose purchased for aesthetics.

Also if any of you can verify that this is in fact the correct plumbing. The AEM instructions kind of stink.

Thanks in advance.

Those sound right. The issue I had is they shipped a 3/8" hose rather than a 1/2" hose. That and they only shipped 1 each of the washer and nylock nut rather than two for the rubber bushing mount. Good luck. The cutting is kind of an ass pain, but not more than those plastic "screws" that hold the bottom peices on!

Oh my god. Those friggin plastic screws they want us to just simply "remove" are a pain in the ass. Is there a way to get them out without breaking them. I made the mistake by thinking I could do this without having the car elevated (at least by jack stands). Needless to say I was about %60 done and had to back out because I didn't want to do a half ass job and time was running out.

Another question. The only cutting they show in the instructions is the plastic that allows the air to come in from the main front air dam by the radiator (not fake brake duct). This can't be the case though. As I look at it, there is additional plastic that must be cut in order for the intake tube to pass into the fender well.

Moral of the story, leave enough time when you are doing this.

Here is a definitive link on the AEM Vacuum install:

As for the cut-out you are correct. Raise the car on a jack and remove the inner well, a Helm Manual is extremely handy here. Then cut a little at a time until she fits in. Not really that hard if you have a good cutting tool.....most use a dremel tool which works well.

Hope this link helps,

Utah & Darknight

P.S. You can trim the hoses to fit........
