Default Quick Headlight Question

Do you really need the middle bracket on top of the headlight?

Mine broke off and I was wondering if there would be enough support without it....

Without that plastic pin fitting into that hole top center the headlight can tip backwards. It will end up not being flush with the fender and will be pointed incorrectly.

I have not looked at one in a while, but it may be possible to repair by screwing in a stud (screw with no head) in place of the plastic pin. You can look and see if enough plastic is present to drill a hole and screw in a stud or screw with no head.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think there is enough plastic.

I'm thinking of using a piece of that bondo mesh to shape and use maybe some JB weld to give it support.

Any other suggestions?

The bracket that is broken on my headlight is circled in RED.

Shouldn't the bracket circled in GREEN be enough to keep the headlight from tilting back?

Mine is broke and mine tilts back. It was a pita to get it to even shine in the right direction! I had to use a zip tie to hold it somewhat in place. Now its about as good as its going to get without buying anything. It still does not sit right with fender or the bumper (just a small gap in the corner closest to the hood), but I'm not blinding on coming traffic anymore!

hope this helps.

I know its not the best pic but if look good you can tell.

oh yeah, this is before the zipage!

Before the zipage.. not too bad.

I'm going to try putting bondo or something in place of the bracket and than drilling in to keep it in place. I'll let you know how it turns out.
