It is possible, but how many seconds of lifting does it take to make it to the first safety stop? 10? If the hydraulics have been fine for 2 years and then recently failed in those 10 seconds, then that is a definite issue QJ should respond to.

Once the story was vetted and confirmed, I would consider going to Consumer Product Safety Commission if QJ does not respond.

 

Lets call it what it is. A luxury item. No one needs a QJ, its just faster and easier.

But it costs more, takes up space and limits side access. If you lift cars often and not going to a full lift, its a nice treat.

 

This is accurate. I rarely use mine because of this. The smaller the work space, the more difficult it is. I got these as a gift so that I could take them to the track. Each side lift is 80lbs, plus the pump assembly and hoses... I don't take it to the track. Anything needing that kind of work, I put the car on the trailer and do it at home.

However, as already noted, if you have a job that requires you to raise and lower it several times, it's much better than a jack and stands.

I use it for the safety aspect and because I don't have a ton of room to the sides of the vehicle for the pump jack handles. With the vertical lift profile of the quick jack, I don't have a concern. I leave my quick jack on the floor, under the car and pull them out as needed.

plus, its just baller to hear that pump lifting the car.

It takes me less time, and with fewer safety concerns than a pump jack and jack stands.

It used to take me as long to setup as using floor jacks, but now that I'm used to it, I can get the car up pretty quick. Where it's significantly faster is putting the car down and putting everything a way, it's great being able to put the entire car down in one shot.
