Bringing this thread back from the dead for a simple and stupid question. I'm replacing my front rotors and I can't get the back caliper bolts off. Not the ones that you remove when replacing pads, but the giant ones on the part that doesn't move with the rest. Please tell me that somehow it's not necessary to remove these. Otherwise, do these follow the same "lefty loosey" rule as everything else? I can't tell because they won't budge either way. Thanks.

Yep just remember with those bolts because of your orientation to it, lefty loosey righty tighty is "Opposite"

A Mallet is definitely your friend. Anti-Sieze will help you the next time around. Some people swear by it and some people swear away from it at least with brakes. To each his own
