So today I bought a used genuine CD player, to replace the cassette player in my 1999 Jap import S2000. I fitted it without too much problem, everything seems to work ok except for the dash controls. The dash control for mute works (all be it the wrong way around) but none of the others. The original cassette player worked fine, so I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the controls. Does anyone know if there was a difference in the wiring on the Jap models?

I believe most radios dont play well with the controls.

 

By genuine do you mean OEM? If so i dont know what differs between the cassette jap model and the US model.

If its aftermarket then you will need the Modifry DCU that gives you back use of your dash buttons. Just google Modifry and you should find his site.
