Well, it depends on what filter set-up you have whether or not it's recommended to modify the hood or not. One person just purchased the J's Racing replica hood from Brandon and after washing his car, discovered water in the airbox. Not sure how that would have happened but if memory serves me, that's what he wrote. Nothing to do with the quality of the hood, it's just where the vents are located.
Here where I'm at now, the rain comes down in sheets. I'm not so sure I would want my engine bay left completely unprotected when a simple visit to Home Depot could resolve most issues with this concern. I'm working on it as we discuss this issue since I'm purchasing one of Brandon's CF hoods with the J's Racing style vents. Since I have a Weapon R intake, there is plenty of room to route water into the open areas of the engine bay. The key is to find the most practical way to attach a rain guard on the left side (facing the engine) of the hood's underside so when it's closed, the guard hangs in such a way as to route the rain to the right side of the engine just forward of the "R" on my CAI pipe logo.
