What would be the difference? I DIRECTLY spray the engine.

do you do it when it's running?

i'd be concerned with the battery, maybe fuse box, getting your air filter wet...

Anyone who is concerned should pop their hood after driving in the rain and see how wet the car gets. There's no problem with a vented hood and rain, just gets dirtier faster.

Your battery and fuse box will not get hurt by water. I'd have to get under the car and spray upwards at the seam of the fusebox lid to get water in it. Worst case then is you have to spray the sockets out with silicon spray. I do it off and cover the filter with a plastic bag. Even that is just a precaution. You'd really have to spray the filter to get enough water in there to hurt something. Water does not hurt your engine. The seals that keep air coolant, and oil in also keep water out.

Most of the CF vented hoods out there are vented toward the front of the hood like the J's Racing, Amuse, ASM etc. I think there are only a few that are vented like the Spoon, J's Racing Type S, and Top Secret. Most of the V styled hoods come with Rain protection. I don't think it would cause damage. Like many have said it would just get your engine bay filthy after a few downpours. If you do have concerns I would suggest keeping the OEM intake box and avoid the risk of getting water in the intake.

All cars are made with some amount of waterproofing and water gaskets.

I helped a friend detail his S2000's engine bay a while back and it was fine with a pressure washer.

You'd hear a lot about malfunctioning engines if vents did cause problems. Not sure how comfy I'd feel leaving the car outside 365.

Luckily the S2000 engine is easy to clean; very accessible.

youre fine, drive!

tips:
-leave your stock airbox lid on in rain (if applicable)
-keep your spark plugs covered with the beautiful spark plug cover provided to you by Honda! (dont get them wet)

even still............. your fine. drive on.
