Noticeable when cold. Sound goes away when warm. I've noticed the noice since new. Oil has been 2 and 3 marks down and have topped off religiously. I now have 900 miles and have broken the vehicle in according to the owners manual. Does anybody else experience this? Is this a normal sound? I've seen the #4 piston problem on this board and this noise scares the @#!% out of me. Hopefully it's normal. I dread the thought of leaving the car a the dealership if not necessary. Besides this concern, I absolutely love the car. Thanks to all!!

John, sorry to say that it not a normal noise. Consider talking it over with the dealership as it may be a precursor to a bigger problem.

I also posted my problem in the "Car Talk" forum and other members have noticed this rattle. One member went to a dealer and started 4 s2000's and all of them made the sound. The dealer explained it as a cam tensioner chain. I will still take it to the dealer to confirm. Thanks to all.

John -

It could be from the mechanical lifter set up. When cold, the clearances are not as tight. Mine does sound a bit more noisy when cold. But when warmed up
