Rear brake pad replacment
I need to replace my rear brake pads, is this something that i can DIY at home or should i take it to the shop. the pads are only like 40 bucks off of hardtopguy.com or handa.com for the rear set. i dont want to over pay for the replacement of my brakes but i know i will have to get it fixed either way, i just want an opinion as to do it myself or to take it to a shop. i know brakes or really important of course, but if this can be done by myself then i dont see why not. any tips/opinions would be appreciated- thanks guys

It's super easy to do by yourself. Here's a thread that can help: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=123081

It isn't that hard to do, just remember to twist the caliper pistons back into the caliper to make the room for the new pads. You rotate the piston clockwise and then align the "+" with the little tab on the back of the pad. Don't try to push the pistons back in, trust me.

I just got my 07 in December, and have my first track day on Monday at Thunderhill. Swapping pads is super easy to do. The fronts are almost as easy as Wilwood Dynalites, and the rears much easier than Miata pads. It took me no more than a few seconds to figure out how to retract the rear piston once I saw it. Thanks to whoever did the write-up.
