Default Rear Brakes

Hey guys. My passenger rear brake rotor is only polished off on the inside edge. All the other rotors are fine. Could a sticky caliper be causing this or is there most likely a problem with the pads themselves. Pads have maybe 6k miles on them. Axxis ULT pads, stock rear rotors with 60k miles on them. They were re-surfaced when pads where changed and they were within spec.

Thanks,
Rick

Could be the pad isn't properly seated in the caliper. Or the caliper isn't properly attached to the bracket. I'd suggest taking the pads out, making sure everything looks good, and putting it back together yourself.

Perhaps the caliper bracket loosened.

If it looks like the outside of the rotor is not being touched by the pad, it it almost certainly stuck slide pins on the caliper. Take the caliper off and regrease the slide pins.

yeah we see that at work a lot.... usually if you cant turn the wheel then the piston is seized. if the pad isnt clamping then its usually a slider concern. I would take it apart regardless. because it could always be something stupid, especially if someone else did the brakes for you.

Agreed, and I grind a bit off and micropolish. The clearance varies from manufacturing tolerances. Use a very light hand.

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I will just remove, hand polish the sliders and reinstall 1st to see if it goes away.
