Rear Diff failure
Good news update... HondaCare agreed to cover the diff replacement.
They do not approve of the CAI (even though it has nothing to do with anything but eliminating heat bog) and I will have to remove it and get an inspection and pictures by the dealer if I expect any future coverage.
I dodged a bullet this time around.

what Honda Care told you about your CAI...tell them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. They are trying to intimidate you. Read up on the Magnuson Moss Act. You can modify your vehicle all you want...if an OEM part fails and ts failure isn't directly tied to any aftermarket part or modification you made, then they legally have to cover your failure. If Honda or any other manufacturer told me this I'd remind them of this law.

no one in the country has extended warranties....they are in fact titled extended service contracts. These do not fall under the Magnuson Moss Act since they are in fact a contract not a warranty. Per the terms of almost any of these contracts, they are able to render them null and void for any modification. This is written in the contract. If you modify a car with an extended service contract then do not expect them to cover it if anything breaks, unless it is specifically written into the contract what you are allowed to modify and what you are not.
These things are contracts not warranties and the terms of the contracts are clear. They are free to cancel your contract if you modify your car, even if the modification had nothing to do with the part that failed.
Glad to hear they're replacing it for you!
At least S2000 differentials are coming down in price these days. I remember the days of people paying upwards of $5,000 to have their diff. replaced!

Chris, do you still have your stock intake? If not, I have one and you can have it.
