Rear diff fluid Question...

Honda does recommed a straight 90 weight.. in the S2000 manual
It was the Honda dealer I went to that used the Honda Marine oil for the S2000 diff.
Most likely because it IS the same spec as recommended in the S2000 manual.
I think I did posted the part#, I found it on my service bill.
IIRC that part # is not an official Honda Marine oil part #, more an internal administration thing.
The LE-607 pdf is available online.
The oil itself was "found" by RoadRage
IIRC.
It does not hurt to slightly overfill the diff.
Jack it up at the driver's side, that way you'll be able to get just a little bit extra in.
As far as I know using the straight 90w gear oil from Honda's marine parts division was never suggested by Honda.

EDIT: It may have been Spitfire that discovered the Honda Marine product, can't remember.

k just pumped this stuff in my diff so im good to go
Couldent believe the crap on the drain plug and the oil was so black it made me sick, i think i cleaned the drain plug for like an hour. Anyway stuff smells pretty nasty and is a nice blood red, but hey if it works, it works. thanks again guys for all your help
Anyway I just put in some LE 607 and I noticed today that the rear diff makes noise, not enought to hear over the engine reving above 2k rpm, but when out of grear I was rolling down a hill (dont really know why) I could hear it, I know our rear ends make noise but I guess I just want someone to tell me directly its fine. lol i dunno. Is this fine??

It seems like it would be tough for anyone (even someone actually qualified unlike myself) to diagnose over the internet. All I can suggest is visual inspection for leaking fluid. Good Luck.
yeah ill check it out tomorrow. I never andomly rolled down a hill in neutral before when having oem fluid in there so I cant be sure. I just had the radio off and no revs and could hear a slight high pitched wine get quieter and quieter as i slowed down.
Anyway tomorrow ill check for leaks and such, but its definatly not in my mind....I think lol.
