Rear end pull away clunk
Hello. Been doing some searching around the forum but so far not found an issue which sounds like mine. I have owned myS2000 for 6 months now and have been having a clunking noise on pull away which is getting worse and worse. (typically it didnt do it on the test drive, but stared doing it after about a month but is definitetly getting louder and more frequent)
Basically, every so often (usually when hot) the car makes a single loud clunk from the rear end. The noise is usually when pulling away from a junction, but can also be during throttle tip in/tip outs at higher revs. It sounds to me maybe like some slack in the driveline somewhere. Thinking of taking it down to the dealer for a checkup but was if anyone else had the same issue as would rather have some ideas before I take it in. I have read the posts about the TSB for rear end clicking (hub bolts) but would not really desctribe it as a clicking.

Search harder =p, though I understand Google has pampered us with searches.

It's either your diff, axle nut, or some other thing I forget. But i had the same issue, (single "thunk" from the rear when pulling away from a stop) and found lots of threads on it.
For some people, it was their diff. But for me it turned out to be the axle nut needing to be re-torqued, something more typical of AP1, but go figure.
