Thumbs down Rear end swaying badly

Real quick about the car
  • MY01, fully lowered on Comptech coilover system (uses stock struts)
  • 18x9.5 -3 camber
  • I have checked my rear for hub play, recently replaced driver rear hub and wheel bearing assembly.
  • Tire pressure checked.
  • Both rear shocks are blown-probably from being on the lowest setting on the coilover, it being a sleeve type.
  • Have yet to fully inspect under the car though.
  • The problem started months ago, but it wasn't nearly as bad-very slight swaying, easily controllable; not considerably scary to drive, and then all of a sudden these past few days it became terrible.

So I have a progressing worsening problem.
Last night was very rainy here, on the freeway regardless of speed, my passenger rear wheel seems to be swaying all over the place. I feel as if I'm about to lose control and it happens pretty consistently when I'm on the freeway. Speed doesn't really matter. I've been doing 35 on the freeway and it's still terrible.

Symptoms
  1. It is pretty dominantly the passenger rear wheel that sways whenever it meets a bump or dip, regardless of size. i.e. Passenger rear wheel drives over manhole cover; entire rear end sways very obviously. (even at 5 MPH)
  2. I've only recently noticed but after making any sized right turn, the passenger rear wheel seems to hop-or feel as if I'm driving over those bumps when you switch lanes, bump feeling hits about three times then stops until next time.
  3. As rear end sways- only experienced this specific symptom on the freeway so far- it feels as if my steering wheel position changes. i.e the center of the wheel no longer keeps the car going straight and I must adjust-but constantly changes as my car sways.

I know that the first thing I am going to be told is to get those blown struts replaced. I am deciding between BC Racing coilovers or the Buddy Club N+, so I will have that taken care of. I understand that blown shock(s) can create discomfort and slight swaying but I highly doubt that it could cause the type of swaying and suspension movement I'm having.

Can anyone chime in on what they think the possible problematic components may be and what I should have replaced, or even how do I go about checking?
It's quite a scare driving this car.

Thank you, I appreciate any input.

Fix what's broken first. Confusing thread imo.

Im thinking your aligntment is very off. I had the same thing, especially when wet out and you hit the rubber they fill in cracks with on the road. When wet feels like your on ice?
