Yeah he has the right profile for the tires. I'm just really mad how the guy on ebay ripped him off. Now he's gotta rebuild. Aren't 4.77's too aggressive? I didn't know they only reduced top speed by 8. What about cruising at highway? Too much gas consumption?

Being "too aggressive" depends on how much time he'll spend at highway speeds. It'll increase rpm by about 16.3% from stock gearing at the same speeds. He'll suffer reduced fuel economy for top gear cruising but for city driving, it may not change much as he'll most likely be using one higher gear than he normally did.

4.77s limit top speed to 142 mph. The stock car has a "calculated" geared top speed of about 165 mph but no stock car can defeat aerodynamic and road drag to ever get there on level ground, no wind. A stock S2000 only has enough power to get to an honest 150 mph (approx. average), so that's why the 4.77s don't reduce top speed much.
