Default regular 5 second interval ticks while stopped O_o

Hey guys, today i was waiting in a parking garage, car idling after a 20 min drive, i hear this ticking in the car. It sounds like the engine cool down tick, and roughly about as loud, except my car was still on, the ticking happens at VERY predictable intervals of about 5 secs, and it seems to only come from behind the driver's seat.

Ive searched through these forums and came up empty, i dont think its a softop rattle, intervals are too consistent and its not the axel nut tick, i was just sitting there in neutral. anyone have similar issues. 05 softop down, OEM hardtop on...

I havn't noticed any ticking while driving, i'll go check next time with music off, windows down etc. i just noticed it today in an enclosed parking structure. i'll try to pin down an exact location but it SEEMS to be behind the drivers seat, (LHD)

I know what sound youre talking about.. i only hear it when i come to a stop. Its coming from under the car.. around the cat/exhaust area. i just never worried about it.

I started noticing it inside my garage, not sure if I heard anything from the axles before this. But the sound did get louder as time went by. I hear it more towards the back on the left side.

Yea, not worried about it, just annoyingto be ticking away all the time. Your guess makes sense, the exhaust is ported on the drivers side and the at would be located around that area.

Any idea how to fix that? Or a link to DIY?

If it is then it's totally normal, no need to fix anything.

It's part of the Low Emissions Vehicle thing. If the tank is pressurised it gives off less fumes. So every few minutes a little pump kicks in to maintain the pressure.
